JOURNEY WITH WATERLILY
In a small village, a quiet and peaceful
place. There was a persistent and humble child named Kim Hyacinth, her name
"Hyacinth" was inspired by the waterlily/ water hyacinth. We met on
her 7th birthday, June 29, 2013 because
her mama invited my family to come over.
So we became friends for almost a decade. We spent countless years
exploring and knowing what we wanted and enjoyed every moment that we had.
She likes the color of the sea, she wants
to be a designer but also wants to be a flight attendant. She also likes doing
more activities and enjoying nature. She is tall like a bamboo tree and sexy
like Coca-Cola, she also likes having short hair with bangs like a dora. She
also has morena skin that is smooth and her eyes are like a color of dark
chocolate, which makes me stare at her more and appreciate her beauty. She is
the friend that is not sweet in words but you will know her actions. She likes
clinging to people's arms and hugging her friend from the back. She also likes
holding your hands while walking. Her love language is physical touch and
quality time.
Her favorite word is "Bhe miss ko na
siya" but she is just already done talking about the guy she likes. She
also likes saying "Bhe, alam mo ba?" and i will answer "syempre
hindi" because i really don't know the context of her "chika".
Kim has possessed a persistent trait,
there's a one time she wants to learn calligraphy and she keeps practicing
everyday until she improves and is able to do it. From the moment that she
wakes up she will ready her pen and paper to practice calligraphy until the night
before she sleeps. She is also humble by even achieving small things she will
be glad and not be arrogant. There's a day that we play with our childhood
friends, pageant of our lego characters, she and her cousin win. She came to me
and complimented my work even though I lost.
One of our favorite
activities is going to the forest and
seating under the mango tree. We also like exploring the river near the place
where we play. We also face our fear of discovering the hidden gems that we
have inside us during our summer camp. We also like to play hide and seek
with our friends but she will go home
without telling us when she is the finder. We like playing until it gets dark
even though our parents are shouting our name to go home. We also like playing
cooking shows that we are the chef and the Malunggay and mango leaves are the
dish.
However, the life of being a joyful kid is
not all about happiness. Kim also experiences the sadness of life even when we
are children. Her parents are always arguing about money because her father
doesn't have stable work, there's a time that her father has work and there's a
day that doesn't. However, her humbleness and positivity help her to conquer
the challenges that she faces. Until now she faced that problem but she still
keeps choosing to be strong like a child that i know.
As the years went by, Kim and I grew older.
We choose and take different paths that we want and we know that we will grow
more. We met a lot of people now and we are making new friends but we are still
in our comfort zone. Even though we are on different paths now, our memories
that we formed and shared when we are children will remain. Kim taught me to be
humble on what i achieve and appreciate
other people's small or big wins. Her persistent behavior gave me a reason to
keep moving forward and seek for improvement.
Today that i am writing this story of us, it
gives me nostalgic moments of our childhood and
makes me think that i have such a nice friend. She became more strong
striving for success and still being humble as she was like when we were
children. She still has a positivity in life that i admire. Even though we are
now separated and walking to our own door of success and decisions in life our
past will still remain remarkable and will bind us together.
